The Power of Mentorship: A Simple Act of Love
For the past two years, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside a young couple and their little one—checking in, being present, and simply doing life together. It’s been a joy to see how God works through intentional relationships.
We understand the value of community because our own children, living in other states, have been blessed by others who have stepped in to mentor and support them. That’s why we chose to do the same for families around us.
People everywhere need the same thing—love and respect. No matter our age or stage in life, we all need support, encouragement, and someone willing to show up. Mentorship isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about being there, extending friendship, and offering the kind of love Jesus modeled for us.
We encourage you—step in where you can, be present, and love others the way you would want to be loved. You never know the impact a simple act of kindness can have!
“We decided we would be there—no matter what—letting friendship take hold. It wasn’t about having a plan or an agenda, just inviting them in and doing life together. Being together was the goal.
I looked at it the same way I would want someone to treat me or any of my family members if we needed support—just someone to talk to, someone to walk alongside us.
Working with this young couple alongside my husband has been such a blessing. Age is just a number. Young or old, we all need love—the Jesus kind of love. And that’s what we’ve tried to share.
It’s not about fixing people or having all the answers. It’s about showing up, being present, and offering the love and encouragement we all need. And in doing so, we’ve found that we are just as blessed as those we mentor.
