Our mission is to be a major resource for families who experience food insecurity (The Cupboard Food Bank), or who are struggling to get ahead in life. For some people, they have made a series of decisions that have collectively put them in bad situations; for others, they are products of their circumstances. For anyone who wants help getting back on the right track, we offer our 18-week workshop that meets once per week for 2-3 hours called, Getting Ahead.

OUR MISSION. OUR MOVEMENT. YOUR SUCCESS STORY.
Burlington Building Bridges and City Hope are making a difference by bringing the community together to impact the lives of our neighbors who are struggling in poverty. Together, we work to break the cycle of poverty, empowering under-resourced families as they learn tools, concepts, develop their resources, and build the healthy support system needed to overcome barriers to build a successful future story. Healthy, thriving, individuals create a healthy, thriving community!

Burlington Building Bridges offers an 18-week workshop, where groups ranging from 10-20 people meet for 2.5 hours every Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm. We use the “Bridges Out of Poverty” Getting Ahead national curriculum through Aha! Processes for families and individuals struggling in poverty. Together, participants break down the barriers to poverty by strengthening the 11 key resources for a sustainable life. These 11 resources are: financial, emotional, language, mental & cognitive, social capital & connections, physical, spiritual, motivation, integrity, relationships, and knowledge of hidden rules.
