FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING: HOW BRIDGES CHANGED MY STORY

Hi everyone,

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Hope, and today I want to share a little bit about how Bridges has truly changed my life.

Before Bridges, my world felt a lot smaller. I was trying to figure things out on my own and making choices without really thinking about where they were leading me; honestly, I was surviving more than I was growing. But being a part of this program gave me something I didn’t even realize I needed—it gave me direction, community, and people who believed in me even when I didn’t fully believe in myself.

Through Bridges, I’ve learned how to show up differently in my life. I’ve learned how to make better choices, how to think about my future, and how to actually take steps toward it. More than anything, it helped me reconnect with my faith and let God start working in my life in a real and personal way.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey is that the people closest to me have been able to see that change, too.

My dad told me, “I have seen you grow in so many ways. You are always eager to please. You are a much more positive person with your attitude and your actions. You have let your love for Christ change your life in the greatest of ways.”

My mom said, “I’ve noticed her willingness to get involved with church, volunteering, and community events, and just in general making better choices for her future.”

And one of my great friends, Remy, shared something that really stuck with me. She said, “Hope has found a confidence that I had never seen. Slowly, I saw her start to lean into God and His intentions and purpose for her story. She has stopped questioning the bumps in the road—the qualms she runs into—and is trusting His plan. She has branched out in a way I’ve never seen, making new Godly, Holy friends who support her journey with Christ. I have never been so proud.”

Hearing those things means everything to me because it reminds me that this change isn’t just something I feel—it’s real and visible.

Bridges didn’t just help me improve my situation; it helped transform my mindset, my priorities, and the way I see my life. It gave me the tools, support, and a foundation that I know I’ll carry with me moving forward. I’m not where I used to be, and I’m still growing—but now I have hope, I have direction, and I have a community walking alongside me.

To everyone here who is on their own journey: keep going. Even when it feels slow or hard, keep showing up. Use the tools we’ve learned here and lean on the people around you. Growth doesn’t happen all at once, but every small step matters.

You are capable of more than you think, and your life can change more than you expect—I’m standing here as proof that it can. For that, I am truly grateful.

Hope W.
