Jeanine is an older student trying to return to the workforce after many years finding her education had become irrelevant, she has some disability issues. She has become more confident through the workshop and has even spoke in public which was really out of her comfort zone. She said she has learned a lot about herself and found she has some great resources within herself through this class. She has enrolled in classes and is doing well in it. She stated this Getting Ahead Workshop gave her confidence that she could pursue her education. She is building her emotional resources through counseling.

What is the Getting Ahead Class?
The Getting Ahead Class is an 18-week, hands-on workshop that empowers individuals who struggle in poverty reach their fullest potential, develop their future story, and build a support system.
How to lead by example and continue succeeding in life.
Staying Ahead is a mentorship program for the graduates of the Getting Ahead Class who are living productive, sustainable lives, paired with a newcomer to help mentor and lead by example.

Lack of transportation is a HUGE barrier for families in need. Through volunteers, community partnerships, and donations we provide our families with vehicles and help with maintenance and repairs.

Youth Nights are a great way for students 3rd-12th grade to have a safe, social setting once per week on Tuesday evenings. The kids will be given a free dinner meal, snacks, games, and a quick lesson in small groups.
Do you know a student who needs a second chance?
We all deserve second chances, and at City Hope it can be found. Students who dropped out of high school can join our free recovery program that helps them get back on track through a part-time online study that gets them a diploma once completed.
